Amazon mystery boxes: what they are and what the alternative is

What is a mystery box

It is a box of returns or parcels sold without saying what is inside. People buy it for the thrill of opening it or for the price: you pay a fixed amount and get whatever comes out.

What to check before buying one

• Who sells it. Look for an identifiable company, with tax details, invoices and a real address.
• What the terms are. Whether it can be returned, within what period and who pays for shipping.
• What it promises. Be wary of ‘contents worth…’ claims that do not come with an item list to prove them.
• What you want it for. As a treat it can be fun; for a business, it is playing the lottery.

If it is for resale, a lot with an item list is better

Resellers need to know what they are buying: which products, from which categories and what they are worth. With a returns lot with an item list you can choose what suits your business, do the maths before paying and plan where you are going to sell it. We explain it in more detail in pallet with an item list or blind.

What our lots are like

At Reusalia we do not sell surprise boxes. Every lot of Amazon returns, whether a box or a pallet, comes with the list of what it contains, a fixed price and the percentage of the Amazon value you pay, in plain sight. And if you are not sure which one to choose, we advise you on WhatsApp. And if it is your first purchase, start with your first lot.
