The process, no frills

From Amazon return to the shelf

Between someone returning a parcel and that same product ending up in someone else's hands, there is quite a bit of work. This is what we do, step by step, and exactly what each condition you will see in our listings means.

What a returned product is and what refurbished means

When someone buys something online and returns it, that product can no longer be sold as new, even if nobody has used it. The box is open, the seal is broken or it simply cannot be guaranteed to be intact any more. That is where the problem starts: it is perfectly usable merchandise that is left out of the normal supply chain.

The same goes for clearance stock: end-of-season surplus, model changes, packaging damaged in transit, items being discontinued. None of it is broken. It simply does not fit on a shelf of new products.

What we do is recover that merchandise at scale. We buy closed lots where nobody yet knows what is inside – hundreds of different items, with no listing, no price and no idea what condition they are in – and turn them into a catalogue, item by item: each unit is identified with its own code, gets its own listing written, is priced against its real market value and is given a place in the warehouse. Many were sent back having barely been used, if at all. Then they go back into circulation at a price that makes sense: you pay for the product, not for being first to open the box.

And ‘refurbished’, in our case, means exactly this: before an item goes out of the door we open it, check that it is complete, test it, assign its condition and sell it with a one-year warranty. What it does not mean is that it has been repaired or restored to factory condition, or that it arrives sealed: if something is not right, we say so and the price comes down, or it simply is not sold.

Step by step

What happens to a product once it arrives

Everything happens in our own warehouse, with our own team. Nothing is resold blind, just as it comes.

  1. We buy whole lots

We buy pallets and truckloads of returns and clearance stock. They come mixed and unsorted: one lot might contain a robot vacuum, a coffee maker and a box of headphones. You never fully know what is inside until it is opened.

  2. We receive them and log them one by one

On arrival, each item is unloaded, identified and logged separately with its own code. From that moment we know exactly what it is, where it is and whose hands it has passed through in the warehouse.

  3. Refurbished

It is opened, we check that all the parts and accessories are there, and whatever can be tested is switched on or tested. This is done when the item sells or someone asks about it, not for the whole pallet in advance: testing thousands of items blind is not possible, and we would rather say so. This is where the truth comes out: whether it has never been used, whether the charger is missing, whether it has a scratch or whether it simply does not work.

  4. We give it a condition

The item is graded. It is not a sales label: it is what determines whether it sells at full price, at a discount or only as a spare part. An item enters the catalogue as Perfect and, if something turns up when it is opened, its condition and price change before it reaches you. The three conditions are explained just below.

  5. We photograph it and write its listing

The listing includes the product photo – the catalogue one, and one of the actual item when we have it – and a description with what you need to know: what it is, what is included and – if it has a defect – what it is and where. If something cannot be checked, we say so instead of taking it for granted.

  6. We price it and list it

The price is set by looking at what that same product sells for on the market and discounting for the condition ours is in. It is then listed in our online shop and reaches our physical shop in Alfafar.

Grading

What each condition means

There are three, and each one determines the price and what you can expect from the product.

Perfect

No defects. It is complete and works as it should: in practice, a product that performs like a new one. What we do not guarantee is the packaging: the box arrives opened and often does not arrive at all. It is sold at its full price, with no discount for condition.

With a flaw

It has a minor defect and it is stated: a dent, a scratch, a broken box, a missing accessory. It works, but it is not flawless, and that is why it costs less. Whatever it is, the listing says so.

For parts

It does not work or cannot be put right, but it is useful as a source of spare parts. It is sold clearly labelled as such and at a spare-parts price. Do not buy it expecting it to work.

And what about anything that fits none of the three? If an item does not work and is not useful for parts, it is not put up for sale: it is withdrawn. We would rather not list it than palm it off on someone.

Just in case

What we don't do

We don't sell anything as new when it isn't

If a product has never been used, we say so. If it has a defect, we say that too. A listing that hides the real condition only ends up as a return.

We are not an official distributor of any brand

The brands on our products belong to their owners. We resell genuine products that have already been placed on the market; we are not affiliated with them.

We don't hand over anything we haven't opened

We log items one by one, but we do not test thousands in advance: it would be a lie to say otherwise. What we always do is open it and test it before handing it over to you, even if the lot comes labelled as ‘new’.

We don't leave you on your own after you buy

Everything comes with a one-year legal warranty (Spanish law) and every issue is reviewed by a person, case by case.

Frequently asked questions

What people usually ask before buying

What warranty do the products have?

They are all sold with a one-year warranty. If something fails, we review it case by case and resolve it: repair, replacement or a refund. See warranty and returns.

Can I return it if I am not happy with it?

Yes. 14 calendar days from receipt for online purchases and 15 days from purchase at the Alfafar shop, with no explanation needed. The money is refunded within 14 days at most from when we accept the return.

You don't need to keep the original box: you can open it and try it before deciding.

What condition are the products in?

We do not sell sealed products: these are Amazon returns and clearance stock. Many arrive without their original box, most are like new and some have a flaw. Refurbished: we open it, test it and check that it is complete. If a defect turns up we let you know, and if it is not in good condition we do not sell it to you.

Is it really cheaper?

You don't have to take our word for it: in the catalogue you will see the Amazon price right next to ours so you can compare for yourself. On average, half. And by buying from our catalogue you save Wallapop's buyer protection fee (~10%), because the price is the same in both places.

How do I buy and how long does delivery take?

In the catalogue you fill your basket and pay by card on the website itself. Shipped by Correos: 5-7 working days to Spain, 5-8 to Portugal and 7-12 to the rest of the EU; the shipping cost is shown before you pay. You can also buy directly on Wallapop, or book an appointment and see it in the shop.

Do you have a physical shop?

Yes, in Alfafar (Valencia), 800 m from IKEA. Visits are by appointment only: message us on WhatsApp at +34 604 841 839 and we will give you a time. That way we have what you are looking for ready and you can see and try it before deciding. And if you come with someone and you both buy on the same day, you each get 10% off (minimum spend of €20 each, maximum discount of €10 per purchase). Opening hours and directions.
